2009 Equipment Purchases May Qualify for Significant Tax Write-Off.

Now more than ever, it is crucial for businesses to maximize profits and improve efficiencies to stay ahead of the competition.  Did you know that your business can easily accomplish these goals by taking advantage of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009?

As part of  the Economic Stimulus Act of 2008, a temporary special bonus depreciation allowance was put into place to enable businesses to further maximize tax savings on equipment purchased in 2008.  The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 temporarily extends this increase for 2009.  In many cases, businesses can nearly double the allowable expense associated with capital equipment purchases.

What does this mean for you?  Bar coding, data collection and RFID equipment purchased through General Data can qualify for this special tax reduction.  Equipment includes:

  • Handheld Computers
  • Scanners
  • Vehicle-Mounted Computers
  • Mobile Printers
  • Wireless LAN infrastructure
  • Software

See this information sheet (PDF) for more details.

To qualify for these special tax incentives, equipment must be purchased and in service by December 31, 2009.
